This is the story of an incredible woman, her journey with the Thing and how she taught us to embrace the storm- even when things feel stark. It is aimed at children with a parent or close human with cancer, but actually is for anyone that loves someone really, really poorly - whether that is cancer or not - and whether they are likely to die, or not. When it comes to Difficult Issues, this is a tricky one. This book tells the story of one frankly brilliant but also very normal woman, in gently rhyming prose, with watercolour illustrations.
Printed on FSC certified paper by a local printer, this title has gorgeous handfeel and beautiful gold foiling. Sales of this title include a donation to Bosom Pals Southend, a support group who loved the real Lady, miss her terribly and generously funded the first run of this story to continue her legacy.
As shared by Macmillan Barts, Macmillan Southend and Maggie's Barts.

I loved this book by @LauraKingCNS called The Lady and The Thing - all about how to tell your children that you have #breastcancer. Have you read it? @Tickoffcancer @futuredreamss @ShineCancerSupp @trekstock pic.twitter.com/bc5B24WCmT
